RAIN India Forum – Collaborate to Accelerate

RAIN India Forum 2026 brought leaders across technology, standards, policy and industry together in Delhi to examine how collaboration can accelerate the next phase of RAIN RFID adoption in India.

India’s need for accurate, real-time visibility is expanding across retail, railways, logistics, manufacturing, infrastructure and public systems.

As deployments grow in scale and complexity, the value of RAIN RFID will increasingly depend on how effectively technology providers, standards bodies, policymakers, system integrators and end-user industries work together.

The RAIN India Forum – Collaborate to Accelerate, held on 12 October 2026 in Delhi, created a shared platform for this wider ecosystem conversation.

The forum brought together global, technological, operational and policy perspectives to explore how India can build connected visibility systems that are scalable, interoperable and grounded in real-world requirements.

A Tag Creates Identity. An Ecosystem Creates Visibility.

A RAIN RFID tag can give a physical object a unique digital identity. Its wider business value emerges when that identity is captured accurately, processed intelligently and connected with operational workflows.

Readers and edge systems capture interactions and movement. Standards create a common language. Enterprise platforms validate events and connect them with business processes. Policy and spectrum frameworks create the conditions for responsible adoption. Industry applications transform this combined capability into measurable outcomes.

The discussions at Collaborate to Accelerate reflected the importance of bringing these elements together.

The agenda covered the global evolution of RAIN RFID, technology adoption, railways, retail, public policy, enterprise technology, standards, local manufacturing, Digital Product Passport readiness and the opportunities emerging across India’s physical and digital infrastructure.

Moving from Successful Applications to Scalable Adoption.

India has already demonstrated the potential of RFID across demanding and high-volume environments.

The next phase of adoption requires successful applications to become repeatable, interoperable and commercially sustainable models. This calls for stronger alignment across standards, technology architectures, manufacturing capabilities, enterprise integration and implementation practices.

Standards allow different organisations and systems to work with a shared structure. Local manufacturing can improve availability, adaptability and supply-chain resilience. Public policy can encourage innovation while providing direction for responsible deployment. Stronger collaboration can help the ecosystem address common adoption barriers collectively.

Each of these elements contributes to building a more scalable RAIN RFID environment for India.

Technology Must Begin with Operational Reality

A successful deployment begins with a clear understanding of the physical operation.

Where is visibility being lost? Which processes still depend on manual verification? Where do records and operational reality begin to differ? Which decisions are delayed because trusted information is unavailable?

These questions help move the conversation from technology specifications to operational outcomes.

Whether the application involves a retail item, railway asset, industrial component, shipment or public infrastructure, the objective remains consistent: capture trustworthy real-world information and convert it into timely, actionable intelligence.

i-TEK’s Perspective on Ecosystem Growth

Representing i-TEK, our MD and CEO, Mr. Ashim Ashok Patil, contributed an industry leadership perspective and helped bring together the wider themes discussed throughout the forum.

His participation reflected i-TEK’s belief that India’s visibility future will be shaped through the combined strength of products, platforms, standards, partnerships and execution.

With over 25 years of experience in RFID-led transformation, i-TEK continues to work towards connecting physical operations with intelligent edge interactions, enterprise workflows and trusted digital information.

Building the Future Together

Collaborate to Accelerate demonstrated the value of bringing diverse perspectives into one shared conversation.

We sincerely appreciate the RAIN Alliance, the speakers, participating organisations and industry leaders who contributed their knowledge, experience and ideas to the forum.

India’s real-time visibility future will be built through a connected ecosystem—one that can transform technological capability into practical adoption, measurable value and trusted digital intelligence at scale.
