Our Founder

Ashim Ashok Patil

Pioneering technocrat and respected entrepreneur, Ashim led Infotek Software & Systems (i-TEK) for over two decades. With a passion for RFID & NFC technology, he has developed innovative automation and IoT solutions. Under his leadership, i-TEK has implemented solutions across Retail, Logistics, and Manufacturing, with notable successes in the Indian National Electronic Toll Collection Program (FASTag) and RFID Electronic Seals for containers. Today, every second vehicle in India uses i-TEK FASTag, and 3,000+ toll plaza lanes operate on i-TEK RFID infrastructure. Over 3,500 manufacturing brands utilize i-TEK's self-sealing solution across 100+ ports/ICDs.

A humble beginning from a small village in Western Maharashtra, Ashim is an Engineering Graduate from the University of Pune. He considers himself a Social Entrepreneur, focusing on technology solutions that positively impact society. His team-oriented approach motivates colleagues to deliver their best. Ashim's contributions to Fashion Retail include conceptualizing Inventory Visibility and Supply Chain Traceability solutions, benefiting national and international brands. Outside work, he practices yoga and travels to scientifically and spiritually significant sites. With a strong faith in his team and a commitment to value-driven innovation, Ashim continues to drive i-TEK's growth and technological advancements.

Journey of Revolutionising RFID

RFID in Nation Building

India adopted RFID for Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) in 2013-2014. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and stakeholders launched FASTag, benefiting over 3 Crore vehicles and INR 110 Crore daily toll collection. i-TEK supplied 1.50 Crore FASTags.

RFID technology improved Indian Ports' efficiency through Gate Automation Systems and container tracking. In 2017, the Government mandated RFID E-Seals for exporters, with i-TEK delivering solutions to 3,500 exporters.

Indian Railways utilizes RFID for Wagon Tracking and fare collection. RFID applications expand across industries, including Infrastructure Management, Passports, Healthcare, Sports, Waste Management, Animal Identification, Education, and Retail.

The global RFID market grew from USD 7 Billion (2012) to USD 12 Billion (2020) and is expected to reach USD 16 Billion by 2029. India will contribute significantly.

i-TEK, working since 2000, appeals to innovators to conceptualize RFID applications, remembering "It's Physics Not Magic."

Twenty years ago, RFID technology was nascent. Its advent began in 1973 with passive transponders at New York Port Authority. Initially limited to Low Frequency (120-150 KHz) and High Frequency (13.56 MHz), RFID evolved with EPC global standards (2002-2005) and EPC Gen2 adoption (2006).
