Reflections from Dr. Ram Charan’s Visit
Dr. Ram Charan’s visit to i-TEK prompted a deeper reflection on three choices that shape enduring organisations: what to build, what to protect and what never to become.

Growth often directs an organisation’s attention towards the next milestone—the next product, market, customer or capability. Yet the organisations that endure also remain deliberate about the values and principles they carry into that future.
During Dr. Ram Charan’s recent visit to PanchaJanya – The Resonant Realm, our MD and CEO, Mr. Ashim Ashok Patil, shared i-TEK’s journey since 2000: the technologies we have developed, the complex operational challenges we have addressed and our evolution towards making physical operations more visible, verifiable and connected.
The conversation encouraged us to examine our journey through three questions.
What should we build next?
Technology must begin with a meaningful operational problem. For us, the opportunity ahead lies in helping enterprises understand what is happening across their physical operations and act on it with greater speed and certainty.
The future we are building connects real-world movement with intelligent edge interactions, enterprise workflows and actionable digital intelligence. Every product and platform must ultimately help a business make a better decision, prevent an exception or improve an outcome.
What must we protect as we grow?
Growth can expand an organisation’s capabilities, but it must also strengthen its foundations.
For i-TEK, this means protecting the curiosity that helps us understand operational realities, the discipline required to solve complex problems and the trust built through long-term customer relationships. It also means remaining close to the environments where our technology operates—from stores, warehouses and factories to airports, highways and critical infrastructure.
What should we never become?
An organisation must remain alert to distance: distance from its customers, from the problems it was created to solve and from the people responsible for turning ideas into outcomes.
As we grow, we must resist becoming comfortable with complexity, complacent about customer value or disconnected from operational reality. Scale should sharpen our purpose and deepen our accountability.
Dr. Ram Charan’s visit gave us an opportunity to pause and examine the choices that will define our next chapter. We sincerely appreciate the time, perspective and thoughtfulness he shared with us.
The interaction left us with a powerful reminder: the future of an organisation is shaped by what it chooses to create, what it has the courage to preserve and what it consciously refuses to become.
